Vision
1. A relationship based partnership of churches
We are a group of churches with common values choosing to partner together, to understand and support one another’s local church vision. This will be expressed in various ways, including commitment to
- Investing in relationships between leaders and churches
- Contributing resources
- Sharing in core activities
all with the aim of being true to Scripture in making Jesus known and the extension of His Kingdom world-wide.
2. Additional activities
Significant additional areas of partnership working by members are both optional and welcomed.
3. Committed to wider partnerships and relationships
We are a network of churches committed to having effective relationships with other groups, projects and initiatives for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
Values
1. Relational:
- Trinitarian: Father, Son & Holy Spirit – connecting in relationship within the church and into the world
- Love-based relationships: characterised by mutual openness, integrity, and servanthood
- Accountable relationships: transparency and accountability to others, both in team and to the whole body
- Biblical / Relational theology: “Trinity in action”, teaching and living Biblical values
- Valuing human beings as made in the image of God: believing every person to have a destiny and purpose for God in this world
- Relationship and community are primary: forgiving, restoring, learning, and growing
- Generous spirit towards other people, churches and movements: with a willingness to learn and benefit from each other
2. Missional:
- Radical discipleship to Jesus
- Dependence on the Holy Spirit & expectation of His supernatural activity in and through us
- Word-based lifestyle
- Committed to worship & prayer
- Living in & communicating the grace of God
- Committed and active in world mission
- Committed and active in social justice
- Working for the extension of the Kingdom of God in all dimensions of life
- Recognising each Christian has a role and function in the church with unique contributions to bring
- Being a people who envision, empower, release, and equip each other into serving Jesus in all spheres of society
- Training and equipping people to serve and follow Jesus more effectively
- Journeying – pioneering and adventuring – the excitement of “being on the way” – discovering, taking risks, seeing successes, learning from mistakes – and in all this to keep being people who are going somewhere under God’s direction
Integral to this is the commitment of those in leadership to actively embrace and pursue the above, both personally and in the lives of others…
